Hero WOD

A named benchmark workout honouring a fallen service member or first responder.

What it means in a class

Hero WODs are named after military personnel, police officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty. They are deliberately long and demanding, and gyms around the world do them on anniversaries and memorial days.

Names you'll come across include Murph, DT, Josh and Chad. Every one of them scales — the point is the shared effort, not the prescribed weight.

On the whiteboard

"Murph": 1 mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, 1 mile run.
